The 10th Meeting of the AEWA Technical Committee
(TC10) took place in Naivasha, Kenya from 12-16 September
2011.

Technical Committee is the AEWA body that provides scientific
and technical advice and information to the Meeting of the
Parties and, through the Agreement Secretariat, to the signatory
countries of AEWA. It makes recommendations to the Meeting
of the Parties concerning the AEWA Action Plan, implementation
of the Agreement and identifies priorities for further research
to be carried out.

TC10 was opened by Professor George Owiti,
Principal of the Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institure
and was attended by over 35 international experts. The meeting
was hosted by the Kenyan Wildlife Service at its Training
Institute close to lake Naivasha, the second largest freshwater
lake in Kenya and home to a large variety of bird species,
about 90 km northwest of Nairobi.
