AEWA Electronic Newsletter No. 35 Released
Bonn, 28 March 2013 - The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat
is pleased to announce that the 35rd edition of the AEWA
E-Newsletter is now available.
Among other things, issue No. 35 of the AEWA E-Newsletter:
- Contains an article on
the recent accession of Cote d'Ivoire to
AEWA;
- Highlights the upcoming
World Migratory Bird Day 2013 campaign;

Looks back at the 5th Meeting of the Committee for Captive Breeding, Reintroduction and Supplementation of Lesser White-fronted Geese in Fennoscandia (RECAP5) - and the meeting of Range States of the Central Asian Flyway;
- Reports on AEWA Small Grant Fund Projects (SGF);
- Welcomes the new
CMS Executive Secretary and AEWA's new
Associate Programme Officer for Single Species Action
Plans;
- Provides a guest
article of Tour du Valat on a Training Programme
in Sudan in North Africa.
In addition, it
- Announces a Training of Trainers Workshop in Kenya and the 9th AEWA Standing Committee (StC9) ;
- Reports on the development of eight AEWA International Single Species Action Plan Working Group Websites; and
- Reminds Contracting Parties to nominate an AEWA CEPA National Focal Point.
The
AEWA E-Newsletter is designed to inform the Agreement’s
growing network about recent AEWA activities and related
news. It is published every two to three months and is available
in English and French.
The E-Newsletter can be accessed on the AEWA website and is also distributed via e-mail.
