2025/014: New Dates of the 9th Session of the Meeting of the Parties to AEWA (MOP9)

In reference to Notification 2025/001 and Notification 2025/012, the UNEP/AEWA Secretariat would like to inform the Contracting Parties that the 9th Session of the Meeting of the Parties to AEWA (MOP9) has been rescheduled to take place on 11 – 14 November 2025 on the UN Campus in Bonn.  

The dates that were recently conveyed through Notification 2025/012 unfortunately coincide with the dates of the 45th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats. The Danish EU Presidency has therefore formally requested the Secretariat to reconsider the AEWA MOP9 dates. After carefully evaluating all possible options the AEWA Secretariat, in close cooperation with the Chair of the Standing Committee, has decided to reschedule MOP9 to avoid a situation of conflicting meetings for focal points to AEWA which are also members to the Standing Committee of the Bern Convention. Fortunately, the meeting rooms, which initially were not bookable for this week in November, have meanwhile become available due to a cancellation.

The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat sincerely apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
