2025/018: Availability of Documents for the 9th Session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP9)

The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat is pleased to announce that, following the 26th meeting of the Standing Committee on 24 September 2025, all twelve of the draft resolutions submitted to the 9th Session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP9) are now available in English and French on the MOP9 webpage.  They can be accessed at the following link: https://www.unep-aewa.org/en/meeting/9th-session-meeting-parties-aewa

All meeting documents that are being submitted to MOP9 for consideration for adoption are also available, with the exception of the draft revised Single Species Action Plan for the Taiga Bean Goose and the draft revised Single Species Management Plan for the Pink-footed Goose – Svalbard breeding population, which are in their final stages of consultation with the relevant Range States. The Secretariat is making every effort to translate as many of these documents as possible to French within the limits of the available resources and will make the translations available on the weblink provided above as soon as they are ready.

All reports due for submission to MOP9, with minor exceptions, are also already available at the link above.

The Secretariat would like to urge all Parties to follow the pre-session document procedure and submit their comments on draft resolutions and documents due for adoption in advance of MOP9. Please submit such comments by 3 November 2025 at the following email address: aewa.mop9@unep-aewa.org.

This will allow the Secretariat to compile all received comments and proposals on each document and to issue a revised version of the relevant documents prior to the start of the meeting, which will facilitate a more streamlined negotiation process in the working groups at MOP9.
