2025/013: Amended Version of the MOP Rules of Procedure Adopted via Silence Procedure

The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat is pleased to inform you, in reference to Notification 2025/003, Notification 2025/008 and Notification 2025/010, that the draft amended version of the Rules of Procedure of the Meeting of the Parties to AEWA is considered as adopted by the Contracting Parties with effect as of 25 June 2025. No objection by a National Focal Point has been received by the Chair of the Committee or the Secretariat within the deadline set in Notification 2025/010.

The adopted version of the Rules of Procedure of the Meeting of the Parties to AEWA is attached to this notification for your information.

The new wording of Rules 26 and 30 clarifies that a quorum for a plenary session at a MOP shall consist of one-half of the Parties having delegations at the meeting (instead of half of all Contracting Parties), as is the case already for other MEAs. This will help to avoid the Meetings of the Parties not reaching quorum.
