Just a few days to go - World Migratory Bird is approaching fast!
A huge variety of events are being organised around the world to mark this year’s WMBD theme “Barriers to migration”, which aims to raise awareness on the many man-made barriers migratory birds face along their journeys.
World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) is an annual event to help raise awareness for the need to conserve migratory birds around the world. On the second weekend each May, people around the world take action and organise public events such as bird festivals, education programmes and birdwatching excursions to celebrate WMBD.

website.
Here, you will also find information on this year’s WMBD drawing competition for children up to the age of 16 years, whereby children can learn more about the many man-made threats to migratory birds and express their thoughts and ideas as to how man-made structures can disturb bird migration and how this can be avoided.
