World Migratory Bird Day – Benefit Concert at Bonn University

For the fourth consecutive year the operatic choir, Chorale Lirica San Rocco from Bologna, Italy will be giving a benefit concert in Bonn, as part of the annual celebration of World Migratory Bird Day. The proceeds from the concert will be donated to a project related to bird conservation. The concert entitled “Flight through a Decade” includes a programme of ten arias taken from major works each set in a different country, mirroring the various States that birds pass through on their annual migration.

New Flyway Campaign to Highlight Plight of the Swans

A ground-breaking awareness-raising campaign spanning the entire migration route of the Bewick’s Swan from its breeding grounds in Arctic Russia to its wintering areas in north-west Europe, will likely be making headlines this autumn. The expedition coined Flight of the Swans being led by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) in cooperation with a number of international partners, will be taking paramotorist Sacha Dench across 11 countries along the migration route of the Bewick’s Swan (Cygnus columbianus bewickii) starting in September 2016.
