Bonn, 7 September 2018 – A Preparatory Meeting for the 7th Session of the Meeting of the Parties to AEWA (Pre-MOP7) will be organized for African Parties. The meeting will take place at the Royal Swazi Spa hotel in the Ezulwini Valley in Eswatini from 12 – 14 September 2018.

Through this meeting, the AEWA African National Focal Points will have the opportunity to identify and discuss issues of common interest for the region ahead of MOP7, propose and prepare documents for submission to MOP7, as well as share experience and strengthen collaboration among themselves. Participants’ negotiation skills will be enhanced through training based on the CMS Family National Focal Point Manual and other tools. The meeting will also offer an opportunity to review some important MOP7 documents, such as those dealing with financial and administrative matters and to consolidate the draft AEWA Plan of Action for Africa 2019-2027.
