Bonn, 11 April 2018 - As previously announced in the December edition of the AEWA e-Newsletter (December 2017), 2018 is a busy year for AEWA with meetings scheduled for the Technical Committee, the Standing Committee and the Meeting of the Parties.  Arrangements for all three are progressing well.

Technical Committee

The Technical Committee of AEWA is currently meeting for the 14th time at the UN Campus in Bonn. A dedicated page has been established on the AEWA website and documents and other information have been posted there.

Standing Committee

The Standing Committee will meet from 3 to 5 July in The Hague, the Netherlands. A dedicated page has been set up on the AEWA website, where meeting documents will be posted as soon as they become available.

AEWA MOP7

The seventh Meeting of the Parties to the Agreement will be held from 4 to 8 December. South Africa will be the host country but the precise location has yet to be decided. A dedicated MOP7 page will be established on the AEWA website in due course.

The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat would like to make a strong plea to all AEWA Parties and Partners to consider providing financial support towards the costs of participation of delegates from developing countries or countries with economies in transition as well as other costs that need to be covered by the Secretariat and for which a regular budget is not available.
