The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat is pleased to announce that the 18th Meeting of the AEWA Technical Committee (TC18) will take place at the UN Campus in Bonn, Germany. The meeting is scheduled for 14-16 March 2023.

While the budget for the triennium 2023-2025 has recently been adopted by MOP8, the parties decided not to allocate funds to the organisation of the AEWA Technical Committee´s in-person meetings in order to limit the increase of the core budget. The meetings, therefore, fully depend on voluntary contributions.

The United Kingdom and the Netherlands have generously provided a total shared amount of EUR 20,000. Nevertheless, that still leaves a gap of EUR 10,000 in the budget necessary for convening TC18.

The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat hereby requests all Parties to kindly consider providing an additional financial contribution. Should the Secretariat not be able to raise the funds needed, TC18 cannot take place in-person.
