The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat has consulted with the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic about the current situation in the Czech Republic with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite some positive developments, it has been agreed that holding an in-person meeting in January 2021 in the Czech Republic cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, TC16 will be held in a virtual format.

The Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic remains open to hosting a future meeting of the AEWA Technical Committee. 

The dates of TC16 remain 25-29 January 2021.
