The AEWA Secretariat is currently preparing a Review on the use of lead shot in wetlands in the AEWA region to be submitted to MOP 4. Similar reviews have already been done in the past by Wetlands International (the last one in 2000). The continuation of the production of such (update) reviews is one of the International Implementation Priorities for 2006-2008 as adopted at the Third Meeting of the Parties (MOP3).

For this purpose the Secretariat has prepared a questionnaire on the use of lead shot for hunting in wetlands in coordination with the AEWA Technical Committee.
