TRAVEL
- Participants are strongly advised to book their
travel well in advance of
MOP5. In particular, train tickets should
be purchased
as soon as possible, as the month of May is the
beginning of the tourist high season in La Rochelle,
and tickets will probably be booked out quickly.
It is also important to note that, due to rail
construction work, there will be no
direct trains from La Rochelle to Paris on
18 and
19 May 2012. The fastest way to travel to
the Paris Montparnasse train station will
be by bus from La Rochelle to the town of
Niort (ca. 65 km) and from Niort via high-speed
TGV directly to Paris. The overall journey
time is estimated to be 3h45. The buses going
directly from La Rochelle to Niort will be
made available by the national rail provider
SNCF.
In addition, there are train connections
from La Rochelle to Paris via Poitiers,
Nantes or Bordeaux. Journey times vary between
3h30 and 7h.

ACCOMMODATION
- Delegates are also strongly encouraged to book
their accommodation as soon as possible, as the

Rochelle Tourist Office.
