Accession of Burkina Faso Raises Number of AEWA Contracting Parties to 72

The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat warmly welcomes Burkina Faso, which will officially become a Party to AEWA on 1 October 2013. Burkina Faso’s accession brings the number of African Contracting Parties to 32. Burkina Faso, which means “Land of upright people”, is a landlocked country in West Africa, surrounded by Mali, Niger, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Benin. [read on]

9th Meeting of the AEWA Standing Committee in Trondheim, Norway

The AEWA Standing Committee is coming together for its 9th Meeting on 18 – 19 September 2013 in Trondheim, Norway hosted by the Norwegian Environment Agency. Lesser White-fronted Goose Identification Workshop in Hungary

As part of the ongoing EU LIFE+ project “Safeguarding the Lesser White-fronted Goose along its European Flyway”, WWF Finland and the Hortobagy National Park Directorate are organizing a second workshop on the identification and monitoring of Lesser White-fronted Geese (Anser erythropus). New Address for the CMS Family in Bonn

The second phase of the extension of the UN Campus in Bonn is nearing completion.
