Next AEWA Standing Committee Meeting to Take Place in Uganda

Bonn, 3 July 2015 The 10th Meeting of the AEWA Standing Committee (StC10) is being held from 8-10 July in Kampala at the kind invitation of the Ugandan Government. It will be the first time that the Standing Committee has met in Africa.

The main business of the meeting will be the preparations for the 6th Session of the Meeting of the Parties (MOP6) being held in Bonn, Germany, on 9-14 November 2015 and much of the Committee’s time will be spent finalizing documents and draft Resolutions. Other tasks will include considering nominations for the new members of the AEWA Technical Committee. The winners of the AEWA Conservation Awards will be chosen by an advisory board during this meeting and presented at MOP.

“I am delighted that the AEWA Standing Committee will have the opportunity of meeting in Africa. Important decisions about plotting the future course of the Agreement will be developed in the run-up to this autumn’s MOP in Bonn” said Jacques Trouvilliez, the Executive Secretary of AEWA.

Documents and further information of StC10 can be found here.
