The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat is pleased to announce that the 8th Session of the Meeting of the Parties to AEWA will take place on 5 – 9 October 2021 in Budapest at the kind invitation of the Government of Hungary.

The Secretariat together with the Government of Hungary will be closely monitoring the development of the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic over the next months and take a decision at the end of July whether the meeting will be held in a physical or virtual format.

The deadline for the submission of national reports is 8 April 2021, and the one for proposals of amendments to the Agreement and/or its annexes is 8 May 2021.
