The Secretariat of the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (UNEP/AEWA) is pleased to inform you that the Republic of Rwanda acceded the Agreement on 1 September 2014 and the Republic of Burundi will become a Party to AEWA as of 1 October 2014.

These accessions bring the total number of Parties to 74.

The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat is glad to be able to welcome both Rwanda and Burundi to AEWA and looks forward to continuing to work closely with the Governments and other AEWA stakeholders in implementing the Agreement in these countries.
