Benguela Current Forage Fish Workshop

Description: 

The Benguela Current Forage Fish Workshop will take place online from Monday 2nd to Wednesday the 4th of November 2020 hosted by the South African Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (DEFF). The workshop is being organized in collaboration with the UNEP/AEWA Secretariat, the Benguela Current Convention (BCC) and BirdLife South Africa (BLSA) with funding provided by the Government of the United Kingdom through its Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). 

The workshop aim is to develop and agree on a set of recommendations for the management of the Benguela Current’s forage fish resources and their fisheries so as to ensure their long-term sustainable use as a critical food resource for seabirds.
